Fiber, Wifi, fax & more

Fiber

Oliver Wolcott Library provides robust internet through our fiber network and related services such as WiFi through the Connecticut library system. Fiber internet is one of the fastest and most reliable internet connections available today. Our partnership with Connecticut Education Network through the state of Connecticut helps close the gap in the digital divide by delivering uniform high-speed Internet access for our patrons with the use of ten public access computers and secure wifi internet throughout the building.

Wireless Services

The Library provides free wireless internet for patrons. To access the wireless network there are two wireless network options to select from your mobile device or laptop.

To Access OWL Wifi Networks Select Either:

1. Oliver Wolcott Library:

  • open, public unsecure connection.
  • No password is needed.
  • Simply tap "Oliver Wolcott Library" under your available network options.

2. Owl Patron Secure:

  • Secure, password required connection.
  • Simply tap "Owl Patron Secure" option
  • enter owlpatron for the password when prompted.

WiFi is available outside the library! The best locations to access the WiFi is on the north, south and east sides. Try to avoid parking near the brick building as the brick seems to cut down on the strength of the signal. One more tip: it will work best if you download one book at a time.

Copier

The Library offers one public black and white copier for use by patrons at a charge of 15 cents per copy.

Exam Proctoring

Do you need a test or exam proctored?  For a $25 fee, the Library provides this service and will act as proctors for distance learning students, professionals or others who may need to have a test or exam proctored.  For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact us at [email protected] or call the Library 860-567-8030.
