About Amanda Surveski
Connecticut based artist, Amanda Surveski, grew up with an infatuation for art and nature. She attended the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia where she received a degree in illustration. After returning home, she began volunteering in wildlife rehab where she fostered her love for natural and animals. Since then, she has aimed to create images that connect back to local ecological issues, provoking those who see her work to engage more with the natural world, and hopefully in turn, to protect it. Amanda works in graphite, watercolor, colored pencil and acrylic. When not drawing or painting in her studio, Amanda works full-time as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. To learn more, visit her website at amandasurveski.com.

The Jamie Gagarin Art Gallery and Exhibits at OWL

The Oliver Wolcott Library features art exhibits that rotate every two months. The exhibits are displayed in the Jamie Gagarin Community Room & Gallery.

All exhibits include an opening reception on the first Thursday of every other month between 5 and 7 p.m. Patrons can meet the artist, have a first look at the artwork and enjoy refreshments. All exhibits and opening receptions are free and open to the public.

Since the art gallery shares its space with the community and library events, it is recommended that you confirm that the art gallery is open before visiting. Please call us at 860-567-8030.

How to Submit Art for Consideration for an Exhibit

All artwork exhibited is selected through a competitive, juried process by the Cultural Committee appointed by the President of the OWL Board of Trustees. The Cultural Committee uses guidelines in its selection including technique, price range, size of proposed work, type of medium, type and style of framing, and artist credentials.
