Special Library Events
From our Annual Family Day each December to our Summer Reading Program and our newly begun Winter Reading Program, OWL marks each season of the year with memorable programs that we hope will become part of your family’s traditions.
OWL is proud of our collaborative efforts with the Litchfield Public Schools. Whether it’s offering a weekly drop-in craft program at the LMS/LHS Media Center or being a guest reader at the PTO Halloween Party and Scholastic Book Fair, we want area children to recognize OWL staff as friendly and helpful people they interact with often.
Each year OWL works with Center School Librarian Mrs. Moore to offer a special storytime designed to ease the anxiety of the first day of school. With books, songs, and a craft all about entering kindergarten this program is a perfect way to help your little one get ready for school.
The Oliver Wolcott Library strongly believes in meeting children where they are, and a great way to accomplish this is with monthly visits to area preschools and daycare centers.
Children’s Collection & Resources
The collection at OWL contains board books, picture books, early readers, chapter books, a comprehensive nonfiction collection, and an extensive collection of graphic novels, as well as audiobooks, music CDs, and DVDs. And we are a NO FINES library! We are also happy to help you find what you’re looking for! Not sure what you’re looking for? Reach out to Mrs. Tricia at [email protected] for reader’s advisory help (what should I read next?) and for any questions, comments, or suggestions.
